A Look at Michael Burton: The Unsung Hero of the Broncos’ Offense

Denver Broncos Player Spotlight: No. 20 – Fullback Michael Burton

Michael Burton, a ninth-year fullback who wears No. 20, has been a key player for the Broncos since signing with the team on a one-year deal last spring. Prior to joining the Broncos, Burton was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the fifth round out of Rutgers in 2015. He then played for the Chicago Bears for two years before joining the Washington Commanders and returning to the New Orleans Saints before playing for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2021 to 2022.

Burton’s role on the roster seems secure for the upcoming season as he is currently the only true fullback on it. However, unless they decide to transition tight end/fullback Nate Adkins to a full-time position, his role as a fullback is solidified leading into training camp. Known for his blocking abilities, Burton has also recorded rushing and receiving statistics in his career.
