Liora shared her deep sense of loss and the complexities of their situation with Yaakov, Noa’s father, in a poignant interview leading up to the Seder night they had to spend without Noa. She also reached out to US President Joe Biden, acknowledging the complexities of the situation but still seeking as much assistance as possible. In a heartfelt letter to Biden last December, Liora, who is battling stage 4 brain cancer, pleaded for the chance to reunite with her daughter before her health deteriorates further.
Noa, who spent time in Gaza and expressed concerns for her mother’s health during her captivity, shared her relief at being reunited with her loving family and thanked those who supported them at a rally for abductees. Liora, aged 61 and originally from China, has been fighting brain cancer for years after relocating to Israel where she met Jacob, her husband. Noa remains the center of their hopes and prayers for a safe return.
