A New Dawn for Science in Allentown: The Opening of the Da Vinci Science Center

After years of planning and hard work, the Da Vinci Science Center is set to open its doors in Allentown. The new, 67,000-square foot facility at Eighth and Hamilton streets will offer interactive experiences for visitors. From exploring the inner workings of the human body to getting an up-close visit with North American River Otters in the Pocono Ravine, there will be plenty of hands-on activities to engage in, according to a press release from the Da Vinci Science Center.

The City Center Gallery, an 8,000-square foot space within the center, will feature the first exhibit titled “Dinos Alive!”, focusing on dinosaurs. In addition to the exhibits, the center will also have classrooms, laboratories, and interactive workshops for visitors to enjoy and learn from. Executive Director and CEO, Lin Erickson, expressed excitement about welcoming the community to the Lehigh Valley’s new premier science center. The center’s mission is to bring science to life and lives to science, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s insatiable curiosity.

The current location of the Da Vinci Science Center at Cedar Crest College will be closing on April 1 to prepare for the move to the new location. Tickets for the new center will go on sale in mid-April. More information about the center and its offerings can be found on their website at davincisciencecenter.org. Years of planning and hard work have led to this exciting new scientific experience in Allentown
