Mid-Coast School of Technology recently hosted its annual Recognition Night at the Owls Head Transportation Museum on May 30. The event celebrated the achievements of 100 students who have successfully completed one or more programs through the school.
The evening began with Director Bobby Deetjen addressing the crowd and recognizing the students for their hard work and dedication. He emphasized the rigorous training programs offered at Mid-Coast, where students completing a two-year program undergo 750 hours of training to prepare them for various career paths.
Attendees included students, families, faculty, and community members, totaling nearly 450 people. This year, 32% of graduating seniors are planning to enter the workforce directly, with 58% planning to further their education through college or additional certifications. Additionally, 7% are enlisting in the military. To support their educational pursuits, over $45,000 in scholarships were awarded to deserving students from various committees.
The keynote address was delivered by Peter Horch of Horch Roofing, who shared inspiring words and professional insights with the graduates. He encouraged them to pursue their passions and strive for excellence in their future endeavors.
Mid-Coast School of Technology is committed to equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary for successful careers. The Recognition Night serves as a testament to the school’s mission of promoting educational and professional growth among its students.
