UMBC Seeks Visiting Professor of Psychological Science

The Department of Africana Studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) is currently seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychological Science with a focus on African-centered or Black Psychology. This position will begin in August 2024 and will be located within the Africana Studies Department.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a PhD in Psychological Science and must integrate African-centered or Black Psychology into their teaching, research, and service. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience with a community-based participatory approach with African American or African diasporic communities. Additionally, applicants whose research covers areas such as culture, mental health disparities education, positive youth development, family science, racial identity, racial stress and trauma, diversity science, and intergroup relations are encouraged to apply.
