ADB SAFEGATE to Introduce Airfield Ground Lighting Technology at Bhogapuram’s New Greenfield Airport

ADB SAFEGATE has secured the contract for the Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) system at Bhogapuram Airport, a new airport project in Andhra Pradesh, India developed by GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport Ltd (GVIAL). The company will implement its cutting-edge Airside 4.0 technology, including advanced LED AGL systems, in collaboration with Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T).

As a greenfield airport, Bhogapuram Airport requires innovative solutions like ADB SAFEGATE’s AXON lights and LINC 360 Integrated Light Control and Monitoring System (ILCMS). The partnership with L&T and GMR for the Bhogapuram Airport marks a significant milestone for ADB SAFEGATE. By introducing their latest Airside 4.0 technology, the company aims to not only improve operational efficiency but also establish new standards for safety and sustainability in the aviation sector.

Bhartendu Mohan, the country director for India at ADB SAFEGATE, expressed excitement about this new project. “This collaboration between ADB SAFEGATE and L&T has been successful in previous projects in cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Navi Mumbai,” he said. “Our track record with GMR Group is also noteworthy, having contributed to developments at airports in Hyderabad and New Delhi.”

The Bhogapuram Airport initiative underscores ADB SAFEGATE’s dedication to providing innovative solutions for airports globally. The company is committed to enhancing safety, efficiency, and sustainability at airports worldwide.
