La Liga Player of the Year award goes to Bellingham

Jude Bellingham, the 20-year-old midfielder for Real Madrid and the England national team, has been named La Liga’s Player of the Season in his debut year playing in Spain. The young player scored a remarkable 19 goals in the league, helping Real Madrid secure the title with a 10-point lead. In addition to his impressive performances in the league, Bellingham also netted four goals in the Champions League, where Real Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund in the final at Wembley on Saturday.

Bellingham’s success did not go unnoticed as he was voted La Liga’s Player of the Season by fans, club captains, and experts. The midfielder beat out some of Europe’s top players like Vinicius Jr., Antoine Griezmann, Artem Dovbyk, and Robert Lewandowski. Unfortunately, Bellingham was unable to attend the awards ceremony due to preparation for the final match against Borussia Dortmund.

Despite his individual accolades, Bellingham credited his teammates, coaching staff, and fans for his achievements. With 29 caps for England and three goals for his national team, Bellingham is set to play a significant role for Gareth Southgate’s squad at Euro 2024 in Germany. The first match will be against Serbia on June 14 in Gelsenkirchen.
