Architectural Digest Reveals the World’s 17 Most Stunning Skylines: From Chicago to Hong Kong and Beyond

Chicago and Milwaukee skylines recognized as among the best in the world on NBC Chicago list

Architectural Digest has recently released a list of the 17 best skylines in the world, with cities from across the globe being recognized for their unique architectural and natural beauty. Chicago was ranked third on the list, thanks to its impressive skyscrapers along Lake Michigan that stand out.

The city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin also made it onto the list, coming in at number 15. With its notable presence along Lake Michigan and the iconic Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee showcases similar characteristics to Chicago on a smaller scale.

In addition to Chicago and Milwaukee, two other American cities made it onto the list: Manhattan and Seattle. Manhattan came in first place, while Seattle ranked fourteenth. The criteria used to determine the rankings included questions about what makes a beautiful skyline – whether it is recognizable, harmonious or has individually striking buildings. Architectural Digest noted that a combination of all three factors is what makes for a truly stunning skyline.

The full ranking of the 17 best skylines in the world includes cities like Hong Kong, Dubai, Tokyo, Perth, Sydney, Shanghai, Singapore, Bangkok, Tianjin, Panama City and Kuala Lumpur among others. More information on the ranking can be found on the Architectural Digest website.
