Bartlesville High baseball wrapped up its District season with a successful two-game sweep of Muskogee. The team ended with a 4-1 victory over the Roughers, securing a seventh-place finish in 6A-District 3. The game proved to be a great night for the seniors on the team, held at Rigdon Field on Tuesday evening.
The Bruins took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and maintained their advantage throughout the game. With one out, BHS had six consecutive batters reach base, five of them with singles, to score the first run of the game. Brett Eaves drove in Brenden Asher with a base hit, aided by a Muskogee error.
In his final start on the mound at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium as a Bruin, Brenden Asher delivered a stellar performance. He pitched a complete seven innings, allowing only one unearned run and working around seven hits. Asher showcased his skill by tallying seven strikeouts, with five of them coming in the last two innings.
The win secured Bartlesville’s spot in the upcoming Regional pairing. The postseason is set to begin next week, likely on Wednesday or Thursday. The team will now await its opponent as they continue their journey in the playoffs.
