Jaden Sherwood, a senior at Batavia Notre Dame, has been named Advantage Federal Credit Union’s Boys Sports Athlete of the Week with over 6,000 votes. This honor comes after his standout performance in a Genesee Region baseball league win, where he drove in 4 runs and finished 1 for 2 with a triple and a sacrifice fly. He also walked, scored a run, and stole a base while pitching 4 innings and striking out 9 batters.
Each week during the winter season, the public is given the opportunity to vote for their favorite athlete from the previous week’s top performances on democratandchronicle.com. The polls are launched on Mondays and remain open until 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The winners are announced first on the Democrat and Chronicle’s Instagram page at instagram.com/dandcsports. This is just one way that Section V recognizes and honors its top athletes each week.
