B&B Theatres Opens Largest Global Location at American Dream: An Immersive Movie Experience in New Jersey

B&B Theatres to Open World’s Largest ScreenX Auditorium at American Dream Mall in New Jersey

B&B Theatres, a fifth-largest movie theater chain in the U.S., is set to open its largest global location just outside of New York City at the American Dream mall in East Rutherford, NJ. This new location will feature an 80-foot-wide center screen and side walls measuring 82 feet each, totaling 242 feet of ScreenX viewing range. This multi-projection cinema developed by Korea’s CJ 4DPlex offers a unique immersive experience for moviegoers by projecting complementary images onto the side walls of an auditorium, creating a panoramic view.

The American Dream shopping and entertainment complex has been under construction since the late-2000s due to the real estate and financial crisis, followed by Covid in 2020. However, it now stands as a popular destination featuring offerings such as a Nickelodeon-branded theme park, DreamWorks water park, an indoor ski hill, and multiple bowling lanes and arcades. The new theater complex will be operated by B&B Theaters and is expected to attract visitors from around the world due to its unmatched cinematic experience that enhances the appeal of this iconic New Jersey landmark.

“Expanding to the American Dream underscores our commitment to providing the most immersive and enjoyable entertainment experiences possible,” said Brock Bagby, President and Chief Content, Programming, and Development Officer for B&B Theatres. “The success of our theater complex at Minnesota’s Mall of America has shown us that this innovative technology can be a game changer in the industry.” Don Savant, CEO & President of CJ 4DPLEX America added that B&B is “a trusted and pivotal partner in the growth of the ScreenX brand in the U.S.”
