It seems that Atalanta is considering a move for Alexis Saelemaekers this summer after his return to Milan. The 24-year-old Belgian winger impressed during his time with Bologna, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 30 Serie A matches. However, Bologna decided not to sign him following the appointment of Vincenzo Italiano as manager.
Both Torino and Juventus are also rumored to be interested in acquiring Saelemaekers, as he is not expected to be a part of Paulo Fonseca’s plans for the upcoming season. Atalanta sees Saelemaekers as a more affordable alternative to Galatasaray’s Nicolo Zaniolo, who would cost closer to €18-20m. The club is eager to reinforce its squad for the upcoming season and believes that Saelemaekers could be a viable option to bolster their attacking options.
