Zandbroz Variety store, a longstanding fixture in downtown Fargo, announced it will be closing its doors for good in the coming week. The store made the announcement through a post on its Facebook page, stating that the last official day of business will be during the week of June 3rd. Everything in the store is currently 40% off, including fixtures, and there are still great backlist titles available for purchase.

Josie Danz, whose father Greg co-founded the store with his brother Jeff in 1991, shared that the store’s last official day of regular hours will be on Wednesday, June 5. After that, it will be sporadic whether the store will be open, depending on whether her parents are in the store working. Despite the closure, Josie Danz mentioned that the final days of Zandbroz have been positive as customers have shown their gratitude and shared memories of the store. The owners had hoped that a buyer would step up to continue the Zandbroz tradition in their own way, but as of now, the future of the property at 420 Broadway remains uncertain.

As the store prepares to close its doors, there has been some interest in the property, but it is unclear what may be next for the space. The Zandbroz Variety store has been a beloved part of downtown Fargo for 33 years, and its closure marks
