Biden and Harris Take a Stand: Protecting Health Care and Women’s Rights in North Carolina.

Biden aims to highlight differences with Trump on health care in North Carolina

In a trip to North Carolina, President Biden and Vice President Harris highlighted the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act while also criticizing the health care agenda of the Republicans. Biden spoke in Raleigh, where his campaign sees a potential opportunity to win in the upcoming election after losing to Trump in 2020.

The visit coincided with the 14th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act being signed into law, but Biden used the occasion to criticize Trump and Republicans for their attempts to limit abortion and reduce health care coverage. He mentioned that Trump and Republicans had tried multiple times to repeal ObamaCare without success and pointed out a budget proposal from the Republican Study Committee that proposed cuts to entitlement programs.

Biden criticized Trump’s comments about taking credit for ending Roe v. Wade and punishing women who have abortions. He emphasized that moving forward together is crucial, protecting democracy is essential, ensuring health care as a right is necessary, and restoring freedom of choice is important.

North Carolina is expected to be a critical battleground in the upcoming election, with both presidential and gubernatorial races at stake. Recent polling showed that Biden had narrowed Trump’s lead in North Carolina from 9 percentage points to 6 percentage points.
