Biden Assures Supporters of Re-Election Commitment Despite Debate Concerns

Biden encourages donors to continue their support following the debate

Amidst concerns about his recent debate performance, President Joe Biden assured his supporters in the Hamptons that he remains committed to running for re-election. Speaking to around 150 people at the home of hedge fund manager Barry Rosestein, Biden acknowledged the concerns raised after the debate but emphasized that he would not run if he didn’t believe he could win.

Biden’s commitment to staying in the race has been reinforced by his successful fundraising efforts despite the fallout from the debate. The campaign reported raising $27 million between the day of the debate and Friday night, indicating ongoing support for his candidacy. This includes events such as a reception hosted by New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy that raised $3.7 million and a gala in Manhattan where singer Elton John introduced Biden to attendees.

While some signs of dissent have emerged from supporters urging Biden to step aside, many attendees at these events expressed their preference for continuing to support him over Trump. Despite this, Biden faces continued scrutiny and criticism from both opponents and some members of his own party following a disastrous performance in the latest presidential debate against former President Donald Trump.
