Birmingham’s Buzzing with Renovations and New Openings

Exciting upcoming developments in Birmingham and a closing business that we will miss

Birmingham is buzzing with activity this week, with renovations and new openings taking center stage. One popular pub, Dave’s Pub in Five Points, is currently closed for renovations under new ownership. Meanwhile, a new restaurant, Sloan’s, is set to open on 2nd Ave N in the former home of Pale Eddie’s Pour House.

In other news, Sculpt B’ham, a locally-owned fitness gym, has recently relocated to Lakeview. The new location offers double the space and equipment, outdoor amenities, and added features for customers to enjoy. Owners Matthew and Destin Foster are excited about the move and the potential it brings for their business.

Coming soon is Sloan’s, a new concept restaurant from the owners of Bocca and Bistro 218. The restaurant will offer a selection of high-end whiskies, bourbons, spirits, and wines. The “cold kitchen” will serve various charcuterie boards and finger foods.

Unfortunately, another local business has announced its closure. The Birmingham Candy Company in Mountain Brook will be closing its doors on May 31 after almost a decade of serving handcrafted confections in the area.
