In honor of International Self-Care Day on July 24, Samsung released a new Trend Radar research in collaboration with Human Highway, a market research institute that specializes in analyzing the impact of technology on human well-being. The study sheds light on how Italians perceive and utilize technology for their physical and mental health. According to the survey, 64% of Italians prioritize taking care of their well-being, with 27% considering it a top priority.
Millennials and Gen Z are particularly conscious about well-being, with 30% of both groups engaging in behaviors that promote physical and mental health. Technology plays a significant role in supporting personal well-being, with 70% of respondents using it for physical well-being and 64% for mental well-being. Men are more likely than women to view technology as a tool for enhancing both physical and mental health. Younger generations, especially Millennials and Gen Z, are leading the trend, with 68% and 65% respectively leveraging technology for well-being.
The survey reveals various ways in which technology facilitates physical activity, such as combining music with exercise and using wearable devices to monitor activity levels. Additionally, technology supports psychological and emotional well-being by enhancing social connections and providing entertainment options. Gen Z, in particular, is adept at using technology to stay connected with friends and family and engage in activities that boost mood and relaxation.
Technology also aids in relaxation and improving sleep quality, with a significant portion of respondents using it for meditation, sleep monitoring, and optimizing daily tasks. In the kitchen, technology serves as a valuable asset, helping users make informed food choices and manage household appliances efficiently. Men show a preference for using technology to guide healthy food choices and optimize home management.
Overall, the study shows that technology is versatile tool for enhancing well-being across various aspects of daily life
