Boston Celtics Re-Sign 11 Players for 2024-25 Season but Oshae Brissett Still in Limbo as Free Agent

The Boston Celtics are set to bring back Oshae Brissett for the 2024-25 season as they have re-signed 11 out of the 12 players who averaged the most minutes per game during their championship season. However, Brissett is currently a free agent and has not yet made a decision on whether or not he will return to the team.

According to a report from The Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach, the Celtics have one remaining roster spot after re-signing Luke Kornet and Xavier Tillman. Brissett declined his player option last week and is currently exploring his options in free agency. While the Celtics have expressed interest in bringing him back, Brissett is also looking for a team where he can have more playing time.

Brissett played a limited role for the Celtics last season, averaging 11.5 minutes per game and appearing in 55 regular season games. He averaged 3.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per contest. During the playoffs, his playing time decreased to an average of 5.5 minutes per game due to injuries and other reasons that limited his opportunities on the court.

With the Celtics having one of the deepest and most talented rosters in the league, it might be challenging for Brissett to secure more playing time if he returns to the team. However, with Baylor Sheierman joining the roster as a rookie, there may be some opportunities for Brissett to get more playing time if he decides to come back to Boston next season
