Bouncing Back: Maple Athletic Complex Slowly Reopens after Severe Thunderstorms

Omaha Sports Complex Soaked by Heavy Rainfall from Severe Storms

The Maple Athletic Complex, located near 120th and Fort Streets in Omaha, is still dealing with the aftermath of severe thunderstorms that hit the area four days ago. Despite their efforts to clean and dry the area, the soccer turfs are still too wet for play and remain closed. However, the tennis courts have dried out and are now open again, much to the delight of players like Mike Mundt.

Arnold expressed concern about the upcoming league games scheduled for Sunday as the fields may not dry out in time. But he remains optimistic that the soccer turf will be back open by Tuesday. The staff at the complex are working tirelessly to ensure that the facilities are ready for use as soon as possible.

The city parks and trails near the sports complex were also affected by floods but cleanup efforts are progressing well and are not expected to impact parkgoers over the holiday weekend.
