Breaking News: Hydraulic Line Strike Causes Fire at MPC Metallurgical Processing in Warren, Michigan

Warren business experiences machine fire due to accidental hydraulic line strike.

On May 16th at 11:30 p.m., a fire broke out at MPC Metallurgical Processing in Warren due to an accidental hydraulic line strike. The incident occurred on Warner Avenue near East 9 Mile Road and was quickly reported by employees who notified authorities immediately. The Warren Police Department arrived at the scene to ensure everyone’s safety.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control, but it took some time to extinguish the partially on-fire roof. The fire department personnel worked diligently for just over an hour to put out the fire, and a preliminary investigation revealed that the fire was caused when a forklift operator accidentally struck a hydraulic line inside the building, causing hydraulic fluid to leak and spray onto surfaces, igniting an industrial machine that then spread to the roof of the business.

The incident resulted in moderate damage to the building, but fortunately, there were no injuries reported among employees or firefighters. This event serves as a reminder of the importance of safety protocols and procedures in the workplace to prevent accidents and ensure everyone’s well-being.
