Brest’s Uncertain Strikers: Will Steve Mounié and Martín Satriano Stay? Amidst European Excitement and Competition

Brest’s Desire to Retain Martín Satriano of Inter Milan

Brest has secured a spot in the upcoming Champions League, marking their first taste of European competition. However, uncertainty looms over the team’s strikers as they await news on whether they will be part of the squad come August.

One player facing speculation is Steve Mounié, who has yet to respond to a contract extension offer despite interest from other clubs across Europe. Meanwhile, Martín Satriano, a 23-year-old Uruguayan forward who scored four goals for Les Ty Zéfs in Ligue 1 last season, is also uncertain about his future at Brest. Despite his modest goal tally, Satriano’s contribution both offensively and in build-up play has been significant.

Brest is eager to keep Satriano but the situation is complicated as he was on loan from Inter Milan last season. Negotiations with the Serie A side are necessary to secure his continued presence at Brest. Inter Milan is reportedly seeking around €10m for Satriano, with interest from clubs in Italy, Spain and Germany also in the mix. Ultimately, Brest will have to weigh their desire for European success against their ability to retain their top talent as they prepare for their first Champions League campaign.
