Bringing positivity to the workplace: Lessons from Ayo Edebiri on the set of The Bear.

As an actress, writer, producer and now director, Ayo Edebiri is a multifaceted talent. In the latest season of “The Bear,” she brought positive energy to the set by emphasizing the importance of being in a good mood and treating people decently to ensure a smooth workday flow. Her efforts were praised by her co-star Jeremy Allen White who revealed that the focus of the second season was on transforming the restaurant into an upscale eatery, leading to less cooking on set. However, he hinted that the third season would return to the functioning kitchen atmosphere of the first season.

Edebiri drew inspiration from the show’s creator Christopher Storer and shared her belief that positive energy starts at the top and trickles down. She emphasized the importance of creating a supportive and uplifting work environment for everyone involved in order to foster employee well-being and improve productivity and retention rates. This notion was backed by a 2021 study by McKinsey which showed that feeling appreciated and valued at work is one of the top reasons people leave their jobs.

Jasmine Hill, CEO of Radiant Slate Consulting, stressed that CEOs should invest in developing company culture and employees. She explained that fostering a positive workplace environment not only benefits employee well-being but can also improve productivity and retention rates. Moreover, research published in the Journal of Applied Psychology suggests that behaving well at work can even lead to better sleep quality, demonstrating the far-reaching impact of positive energy in the workplace.

In conclusion, Edebiri’s approach to bringing positivity to “The Bear” set serves as an example for other leaders in any industry. By prioritizing employee well-being and fostering a supportive work environment, companies can achieve long-term success while also improving their bottom line.
