Four individuals detained for allegedly trespassing at the residence of UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak | Global Updates

On Tuesday, four individuals were arrested by British police for trespassing on the grounds of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s property in northern England. The arrests took place during a general election campaign where Sunak is struggling to close the gap between him and the centre-left Labour Party in the polls.

According to North Yorkshire Police, their officers arrived at the scene within one minute of receiving a call about the trespass and arrested the suspects, who were aged between 20 and 52 and from various parts of the country. The four individuals have since been taken into custody for questioning, and investigations are ongoing.

In a video posted on X (Twitter), the group Youth Demand shared footage of a young man entering Sunak’s property and defecating into what they claimed was a lake on his land. The group released a statement criticizing the Conservative government for various issues such as polluted rivers, crumbling schools, and the destruction of the NHS.

This is not the first time that Sunak’s home has been targeted. Last summer, Greenpeace activists covered it in oil-black sheets to protest against the government’s decision to grant new oil and gas licenses.
