Cadbury Confirms: Bournville Factory Will Stay at the Heart of Business for Years to Come

As part of its 200th anniversary celebrations, Mondeléz International has confirmed that the Bournville factory will remain the “home and heart” of the Cadbury business for years to come. The managing director of Cadbury, Louise Stigant, expressed her privilege to be a part of a company with such a rich heritage and emphasized the importance of the Bournville plant.

Stigant referred to Bournville as the “Crown Jewels” of Cadbury, acknowledging its significance in reaching 200 years of trading for the brand. Despite facing challenges in the past, including a hostile takeover by American firm Kraft in 2010 and subsequent job losses and production being moved to Poland, Stigant emphasized that Cadbury has invested significantly in the UK business.

Since taking over 14 years ago, over £270m has been invested in the UK business. Bournville serves as the Global Centre of Excellence for chocolate research and development and remains at the forefront of Cadbury’s plans. Stigant reiterated her commitment to Bournville, stating that it is seen as the company’s top priority and will continue to be “the home and heart” of Cadbury.
