Cambridge United has officially signed James Gibbons on a two-year contract after he played for the club on loan from Bristol Rovers last season. The 26-year-old defender made 13 appearances for Cambridge United before being released by Bristol Rovers in May.
Gibbons expressed his excitement about signing permanently with Cambridge United, stating that he was made to feel at home by everyone at the club, including the fans who supported him. He was met with enthusiasm from manager Garry Monk, who praised his consistent performance, experience, versatility, and leadership skills.
The new signing adds depth to the team and will be a valuable asset as they prepare for the upcoming season. Cambridge United will kick off their new league season on the weekend of 10-11 August, and the league fixtures are set to be announced on Wednesday, 26 June.
