Marvel Studios is set to release Captain America: Brave New World, starring Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, on February 14, 2025. The film follows the hero’s journey as he embraces his new role as Captain America. Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, recently attended an event in Las Vegas to introduce the movie and shared a new clip from the film.
Feige highlighted Captain America: The Winter Soldier as a point of reference for the new film, noting how it was well-received as a grounded action thriller. He mentioned that the upcoming Cap 4 would continue in that tradition and shared a new clip from the movie.
Anthony Mackie has been playing Sam Wilson since 2014’s The Winter Soldier and has appeared in various Marvel movies. He recently headlined his own Disney+ show called Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which debuted in 2021. The show follows Sam’s journey as he grapples with the idea of taking on the mantle of Captain America as a Black man in America after Steve Rogers retired.
The new film picks up with Sam fully embracing his new role as Cap. Directed by Julius Onah, it introduces Harrison Ford to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Thunderbolt Ross, previously portrayed by William Hurt. Danny Ramirez reprises his role as Joaquin Torres, a character set to continue Sam Wilson’s legacy as Falcon. Other actors such as Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, Carl Lumbly, and Shira Haas also star in the movie.
The clip revealed a scene at the White House where Thunderbolt Ross, now the president, asks Sam Wilson to help rebuild the Avengers. The footage then transitions to a crisis situation where Captain America and Phoenix come to the rescue. However, chaos ensues when loud music triggers something in former soldier Isiah Bradley, resulting in an attempt on the president’s life.
With only one movie releasing this year and two scheduled for next year, fans eagerly anticipate Captain America 4 arriving on February 14, 2025
