Celebrating World Pest Day 2024: Highlighting Global Solutions and Local Impact in Pest Management

GPMC gears up for World Pest Day celebrations on June 6

The Global Pest Management Coalition (GPMC) is getting ready to celebrate World Pest Day on June 6, 2024. Since its inception in 2017, this day has been recognized globally as an event aimed at increasing awareness about the critical role that pest management plays in safeguarding public health, food safety, and the environment.

In 2024, World Pest Day will be featured during the Global Public Health & Food Safety Summit, which will take place from June 4-6, 2024, in Miami, Fla. Organized by the Confederation of European Pest Management Associations (CEPA), the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), and the Federation of Asian and Oceania Pest Managers Associations (FAOPMA), the summit will include specific programming to commemorate this significant day.

The primary objectives of World Pest Day are to raise awareness among the public, government officials, and the media about the vital role played by pest management organizations in protecting public health and promoting professionalism in the industry. Additionally, it aims to promote responsible use of professional pest management practices and highlight the challenges posed by small pests.

This year’s theme for World Pest Day is “Global Solutions, Local Impact: Mapping Success in Pest Management.” According to a news release by NPMA, this theme emphasizes both global cooperation and local initiatives’ importance in achieving positive outcomes in pest management.

To enhance the celebration of World Pest Day, GPMC will introduce new content on their website at www.pestmanagementcoalition.org. This platform will showcase case studies from member organizations worldwide that highlight successful stories and innovative solutions in pest management across various regions of the world.
