Chasing History: Sonoma Raceway Ready to Host NASCAR Cup Series with Potential for Record-Breaking Ninth Different Driver Win

Sonoma Raceway is set to host the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series race, with a possibility for it to be the ninth different driver to win in a row. The last eight races have been won by Austin Cindric, Christopher Bell, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, Tyler Reddick, Chase Elliott, and William Byron.

Last year at Sonoma Raceway, Joe Gibbs Racing claimed both the pole and the victory. This year’s race will feature the command to start engines given by comedian James Murray at 3:38 p.m., with the green flag scheduled to wave at 3:50 p.m.

The pre-race activities for Sunday’s race at Sonoma Raceway will include the garage opening at 12:30 p.m., a driver meeting at 2:40 p.m., and driver introductions at 3 p.m. The national anthem will be performed at 3:31 p.m. by Marina Moye. The race is set for 110 laps (218.9 miles) on the 1.99-mile road course, with stage 1 ending at Lap 25 and stage 2 ending at Lap 55.

Qualifying for the race begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday, with Fox broadcasting the race at 3:30 p.m. Pre-race coverage will start on FS1 at 2 p.m., transitioning to Fox at
