Chelsea on the Hunt for New Manager: Kieran McKenna, Enzo Maresca, Thomas Frank and More in the Frame

McKenna, Maresca, and Frank Considered for Chelsea Coaching Job

Chelsea is on the hunt for a new manager after Mauricio Pochettino’s departure this week. The club has drawn up early shortlists featuring options such as Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna, Leicester City’s Enzo Maresca, and Brentford’s Thomas Frank.

Kieran McKenna, who recently achieved promotion from the Championship with Ipswich Town, is reportedly the frontrunner for the job. Manchester United and Brighton are also interested in McKenna, who would come with a compensation cost of over £4m.

Enzo Maresca, who led Leicester to the Championship title and has worked as a coach under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, is also being considered as an alternative choice. Danish coach Thomas Frank, who successfully guided Brentford to the Premier League and solidified their place in the top flight, is another option on Chelsea’s radar.

Despite finishing sixth in the Premier League and reaching the Carabao Cup final (where they lost to Liverpool) last season, the team will be looking for a fresh start under a new manager. The players who are not on international duty are set to return for preseason on July 4th and will kick off their preparations under new management. There is also rumored to be a mystery fourth contender in mind for the managerial position.
