Chicago’s Asador Bastian Ranked Among the Best Steakhouses in the World: A Culinary Tour of the Windy City’s Top Meat Destinations

A Chicago-based steakhouse located in a refurbished 1880s townhome has been ranked among the best steakhouses in the world. Asador Bastian, a Basque-influenced chophouse located at 214 W. Erie Street in River North, claimed the No. 14 spot on the list of “World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants.” The ranking, released by Upper Crust Media House in London, evaluated over 850 steakhouses worldwide, focusing on meat quality, cooking methods, and customer service.

The top U.S. steakhouse to appear on the list was Cote in New York City, ranking at No. 4. Asador Bastian in Chicago followed closely behind at No. 14, praised for combining traditional Basque grilling techniques with a modern aesthetic. The steakhouse opened its doors in April of 2023 and has quickly become a must-visit destination for meat lovers seeking an unforgettable dining experience.

Bazaar Meat is another notable Chicago steakhouse that made it onto the list at No. 39. Located in River North, the menu offers a variety of meats prepared through innovative techniques such as suckling pig with a crisp exterior and tender interior and Wagyu beef sliders packed with flavor. This unique approach to cooking has earned Bazaar Meat recognition as one of the best steakhouses not only in Chicago but across the globe.
