Co-op and Walmart Join Forces to Enhance Quick Commerce Operations with New Technology

Co-op collaborates with Walmart on fulfillment technology

Co-op has recently announced a new partnership with Walmart to enhance its quick commerce operations through the use of the Store Assist online fulfillment technology. This move is aimed at improving the customer experience and helping Co-op achieve its target of capturing more than a one-third share of the quick commerce market.

As head of online development for Co-op, George Hayworth emphasized the company’s focus on growing its presence in the online grocery market through both its own online shop and strategic partnerships. By working closely with Walmart Commerce Technologies to implement this new technology, Co-op aims to support its continued growth while enhancing the quick and reliable service that is important to its member-owners and customers.

With the Store Assist app, retailers can efficiently manage pickup, third-party marketplace, ship-from-store, and last-mile delivery orders all in one place. Through its quick commerce operations, Co-op now estimates that more than 80% of the UK population has access to Co-op groceries either through its own online shop or via partners like Just Eat, Uber Eats, and Deliveroo. This expansion of reach and convenience highlights Co-op’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its customers and growing its presence in the online grocery market.
