Colorado Football Brings in Highly-Graded Transfer Portal Players: LaJohntay and Jaylen Wester

Jaylen Wester of Colorado ranked as one of the top returning Big 12 linebackers in terms of grading.

Two former Florida Atlantic standouts, LaJohntay and Jaylen Wester, are set to join the Colorado football team as intriguing incoming transfer portal players. With their unique skill sets, they bring valuable experience and talent to the Buffs.

Jaylen Wester, a linebacker, is one of the highest-graded returning linebackers in the Big 12 Conference according to Pro Football Focus College. He earned an overall grade of 84.5 last season, placing him behind only Iowa State’s Caleb Bacon (89.3) and UCF’s Xe’ree Alexander (84.1) in terms of grades above 80. During his time at FAU, Jaylen played in 11 games with five starts, accumulating 55 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and two pass breakups. He also had an impressive freshman campaign with 58 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and an interception in 2022.

LaJohntay Wester is a wide receiver who showcased his skills during the Buffs’ spring game this year. He received a PFF grade of 82.1 last season, making him the fourth-highest-graded returning Big 12 wide receiver. His impressive performance at FAU included catching 47 passes for 630 yards and eight touchdowns in just nine games played in his sophomore season of college football.
