Colorado Springs Rocket Society Faces Setback After Equipment Theft, but Remains Determined to Continue their Mission of Science Education

Southern Colorado Science Club seeks community support

In recent news, the Colorado Springs Rocket Society (COS Rocket Society) has suffered a setback after a trailer filled with their equipment was stolen, resulting in a loss of $10,000. The theft occurred on May 26th at the Challenger Learning Center when a dark SUV was seen hauling the trailer away at around 11:33 am.

Despite this unfortunate incident, the COS Rocket Society remains dedicated to their mission of using model rocket launches to educate others about physics, aerodynamics, and other science concepts. For the past 30 years, the organization has been providing hands-on STEM education to schools, churches, and scouting clubs.

President Dave Virgo expressed his optimism and determination to continue their work despite the financial setback. He urged the community to support them in any way they can. The COS Rocket Society is seeking information about the whereabouts of their stolen equipment and welcomes donations to help recover from the loss.
