Community Input Sought in Linn County Health Assessment to Shape 2025-2027 Improvement Plan

Breaking News: Linn County Public Health Promotes Healthy Living Together!

Linn County Public Health and Together! Healthy Linn are hosting two town hall meetings to gather community feedback on the health of our community. These meetings are part of the Community Health Assessment (CHA) process, which takes place every three years. The input received during these sessions will help shape the health priorities for the 2025-2027 Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

The dates and times for the town hall meetings are as follows: Thursday, July 11 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Community Room at Lester Buresh Community Wellness Center in Mount Vernon, Iowa, and Wednesday, July 17 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Fairfax City Hall in Fairfax, Iowa. Those unable to attend can still provide feedback through two surveys.

The food security survey aims to gather information on the current state of food security in Linn County and identify ways to improve access to food resources. The community violence survey focuses on residents’ views on safety and security, which will aid in developing violence prevention strategies for the community. Both surveys will be open until July 31, 2024.
