Rodgers and Guthrie to Lead Health Subcommittee Hearing on Cybersecurity in Health Care

In the wake of the Change Healthcare cyberattack, House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and Subcommittee on Health Chair Brett Guthrie (R-KY) have announced a subcommittee hearing titled “Examining Health Sector Cybersecurity in the Digital Age”. The hearing will focus on cybersecurity vulnerabilities in the health care sector.

In their statement, Chairs Rodgers and Guthrie highlighted the benefits of digital technology in improving patient access to quality care, but also acknowledged the challenges and vulnerabilities that come with it. They emphasized the importance of securing patients’ sensitive health information and protecting the health care sector from disruption, particularly in light of recent cyberattacks.

The hearing will take place on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 10:00 AM ET in 2123 Rayburn House Office Building. Witnesses for the hearing will be announced and are by invitation only. The hearing is open to the public and press, and will be live streamed online at .
