Defensive Reinforcements: Colchester United Signs Ben Goodliffe and Offensive Threat with John-Kymani Gordon

Colchester Secures Goodliffe and Gordon

The English football club, Colchester United, has recently announced the signing of two new players, Ben Goodliffe and John-Kymani Gordon. This brings their total number of summer signings to four. Goodliffe, 25, joins from Sutton United after spending five seasons with the club. He was a crucial member of the team that secured promotion to the Football League for the first time in 2021. Gordon, 21, moves on from Crystal Palace after his departure from the Premier League club.

Both players have signed a two-year deal with Colchester United following the previous captures of goalkeeper Matt Macey and winger Harry Anderson. Colchester boss Danny Cowley expressed his excitement about the new signings, stating that Goodliffe has a passion for the game and a commitment to excellence, which will help improve the team in both defence and attack. Cowley also praised Gordon for his pace, ability to carry the ball, and his edge on the field. He mentioned that Gordon’s athleticism will be a good replacement for the recently departed Jayden Fevrier.

Goodliffe is known for his impressive performances at Sutton United and is expected to bring much-needed experience to Colchester’s defence line. Meanwhile, Gordon’s ability to dribble past defenders and score goals will make him an exciting addition to Colchester’s attacking lineup. Both players are eager to join their new teammates at Essex Road stadium as they prepare for another season in League One competition
