Dreiling and Stark Propel Vols to Victory in Game 2 of CWS: A Homer Showdown

In Game 2 of the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska, Tennessee emerged victorious over Texas A&M with a final score of 4-1. Two crucial two-run homers by left fielder Dylan Dreiling and catcher Cal Stark propelled the Vols to victory.

Dreiling hit his second homer of the CWS series in the seventh inning, giving Tennessee a 2-1 lead. This was his 22nd homer on the year. Stark extended the lead with a two-run blast in the eighth inning, making it 4-1. The Aggies had several opportunities to score more runs throughout the game but were unable to capitalize on key situations.

On the other hand, Texas A&M got on the board early with a solo homer from outfielder Jace LaViolette in the first inning. Despite their struggles, they managed to keep up with Tennessee’s pitching throughout the game, including a strong relief performance by Aaron Combs and a save from Nate Snead.

The outcome of this final game will determine which team secures their school’s first-ever CWS title after Texas A&M initially took a 1-0 series lead on Friday. Both teams will be looking to finish the series on a high note and etch their names into history books as champions of college baseball’s biggest tournament. ESPN will broadcast Game 3 from Charles Schwab Field in Omaha at 7 p.m ET on Monday.
