Egypt’s new Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati recently spoke with the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland, about the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip. During their phone call, Abdel Aati expressed Cairo’s determination to reach a deal that would bring an end to the violence and result in the exchange of hostages and prisoners between Israel and Hamas.

The minister also urged continued international efforts to deliver aid to Gaza residents amidst ongoing conflict.
