Competitiveness and Energy Innovation in Focus: European Commission at the Hannover Fair 2024

The European Commission will be attending the Hannover Messe, one of the world’s largest industrial fairs from April 22 to 26 in 2024. The main focus of this event is to strengthen the EU’s industrial competitiveness in the global economy.

On the first day of the fair, attendees can expect a conference, presentations and round tables in the stand auditorium, with each day dedicated to a different theme. In addition, there will be a support corner where attendees can speak with experts about industry-related policies and financing opportunities.

The second day of the fair is European Energy Day, with a theme of “Clean, accessible and safe energy.” This event will feature Mechthild Wörsdörfer, Deputy Director General of the Energy DG as a keynote speaker. The one-day conference will cover topics such as EU policy framework for energy sector, industrial competitiveness in energy sector, European Wind Energy Package and European Grids Action Plan among others. There will also be an introduction to a new voluntary initiative “Code of Practice on Interoperable Smart Energy Appliances.”

All sessions from European Energy Day will be streamed on the DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs website. This event presents an excellent opportunity for stakeholders to learn about the latest developments in Europe’s energy sector and engage with experts in this field.
