Empowering Future Entrepreneurs: Acton Academy’s Annual Children’s Business Fair in Lincoln, Nebraska

Lincoln Children’s Business Fair Encourages Young Entrepreneurs

Acton Academy in Lincoln, Nebraska hosted their annual children’s business fair for the fourth year in a row, providing young entrepreneurs aged five to 16 with the opportunity to showcase their business ideas. This year, 70 businesses were accepted to participate in the fair, offering a variety of products and services from face painting to homemade goodies.

The application process for the fair required kids to research costs, determine pricing strategies, and develop their marketing plans. This hands-on experience allowed them to understand the basics of running a business, engaging with customers, and promoting their products or services effectively.

Zach Harsin, co-founder of Acton Academy, emphasized the importance of the application process in preparing the young entrepreneurs for the fair. By encouraging kids to think critically about their business ideas and develop a plan of action, the program aims to foster creativity, responsibility, and entrepreneurial skills in children from a young age.

This year saw the highest number of participating businesses in the fair’s history, and Acton Academy hopes to continue growing the event in the future. The children’s business fair provides a platform for young entrepreneurs to showcase their talents, learn valuable skills, and gain confidence in their abilities to succeed in the business world.
