Empowering Mental Health: El Paso Sheriff’s Office Proposes New Program for Peace Officers

The El Paso Sheriff’s office is proposing a mental health program for officers, with Sheriff Richard D. Wiles submitting the agenda item to Commissioners Court for approval. The program aims to offer individual and group therapy sessions to peace officers and deputies to support their mental well-being. In collaboration with Family Endeavors, Inc., the program will provide specialized treatments such as animal therapy and art therapy. Funding for this initiative comes from a grant award, as stated in the agenda item documents.

Sheriff Richard D. Wiles has proposed a mental health program for officers in the El Paso Sheriff’s office, which is currently under review by Commissioners Court.
