At the first-time Enduro World Cup venue of Combloux, riders faced tough conditions with greasy practice sessions and scorching heat on race day. The course tested their limits with six challenging stages, adding an extra layer of difficulty to the competition. Despite the difficult conditions, riders pushed through and delivered impressive performances.
In the U21 Men’s category, Adam Maxa emerged victorious by finishing over 14 seconds ahead of Jt Fisher on the final stage. Bailey Christie also stood out with a final stage win, securing third place overall, just 17 seconds behind Maxa. In the U21 Women’s category, Winnie Goldsbury claimed victory with two stage wins, putting her 50 seconds ahead of second-placed Simona Kuchynkova. Lily Boucher rounded out the podium almost one minute and twenty seconds behind the race winner.
Morgane Charre showcased a dominant performance in Combloux, winning five out of six stages to claim her first victory of the 2024 season. Charre’s outstanding performance in her home country of France gave her an unbeatable lead going into the final stage, finishing 23 seconds ahead of series leader Isabeau Courdurier. Ella Conolly continued her strong season with another podium finish, marking her second top-three result of the year.
In the elite men’s category, Richie Rude continued his streak of success by winning three out of four World Cup rounds. Despite not winning any stages in Combloux, Rude maintained a consistent performance within the top five, ultimately finishing just 2.199 seconds ahead of Luke Meier-Smith. Alex Rudeau came close to challenging Rude for the top spot but fell to third place after a tough final stage, finishing 3.230 seconds behind the series leader.
