In the southern Gaza Strip, the Israeli army has issued a new evacuation order for areas in Khan Younis and Rafah governorates. Many Palestinians were previously forced to flee due to fighting in these regions. The evacuation was ordered in towns such as al-Qarara and Bani Suheila, according to army spokesman Avichay Adraee.
Residents and displaced persons in the affected areas were urged to evacuate promptly. Witnesses reported that many residents had already left the areas after receiving the evacuation order.
The evacuation order came after 20 projectiles were fired at Israeli soil from the Khan Younis region earlier in the day. The al-Quds Brigades, an armed wing of Islamic Jihad, claimed responsibility for the attacks, stating that they had targeted Israeli localities around Gaza.
The Israeli army has been gradually moving southward in response to a ground offensive in the Gaza Strip, targeting areas in order to weaken Hamas with whom they have been engaged in conflict. The war began after an attack by Hamas on Israeli soil resulted in significant casualties on both sides.
