Laredo College is hosting its first ever health sciences summer camp from June 10-14. This camp offers children ages 11-14 the chance to explore various health care fields, including Medical Assisting, Emergency Medical Services, Physical Therapist Assistant, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiology and Nursing.
The weeklong camp will be held at the LC South College of Health Sciences Building, with space limited and registration priced at $25 per child. The deadline to register and pay is Friday, May 31.
This unique opportunity is led by licensed or certified health professionals from Laredo College faculty as well as students with clinical experience. Participants will engage in hands-on activities that will teach them about anatomy, diseases, solve medical mysteries and perform patient simulations using technology in the same labs and classrooms as LC students.
The goal of this camp is to inspire interest in health professions among middle school students and motivate them to become future health leaders. Parents are encouraged to register their children for this exciting opportunity. Camp hours will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday and on Friday from 8-10 a.m., with a completion ceremony taking place on Friday at 9 a.m., at the College of Health Sciences Building. Don’t miss this chance for your child to learn from healthcare experts and gain practical experience in a supportive and engaging environment!
