EY.ai: How Large Language Models and ERP Technology are Shaping the Future of Business Operations

Will LLMs Shape the Future of ERP Technology?

The future of the ERP landscape is being shaped by the convergence of Large Language Models (LLMs) and ERP technology, although it is still in its infancy. LLMs have the capacity to process vast amounts of data in context, laying the foundation for automation solutions. In response to this potential, EY launched its AI platform, EY.ai, in September 2023. Catriona Campbell, CTIO of EY UK and Ireland, discussed the internal changes required to successfully develop EY.ai, including rolling out a LLM to its 400,000 employee workforce.

EY invested $1.4bn in EY.ai over 18 months with the goal of creating a platform that combines EY’s business experience with AI technology to assist firms in adopting AI solutions. By forming strategic alliances within EY.ai, EY can leverage the collective knowledge of its partners to offer a more effective approach to implementing AI transformations. This ecosystem includes partnerships with Dell Technologies, IBM, Microsoft, SAP, ServiceNow, Thomson Reuters, UiPath and others.

EY.ai connects the business expertise of EY teams across various areas with their technology platforms and AI capabilities to help clients confidently adopt AI while addressing its challenges. This platform allows EY teams to deliver AI-powered services and solutions to clients, driving productivity gains and innovation. The success of EY.ai demonstrates how integrating LLMs with ERP technology can propel businesses towards embracing innovation and pushing boundaries in their operations.
