Farmer’s Buffet: A Dream Realized and Then Unexpectedly Closed after Three Months in Business

Farmer’s Buffet, a popular eatery in East Peoria, has announced its closure after just three months in business. The news was shared on the restaurant’s business profile on Google with a photo that read “Our journey has come to an end!”

The buffet, located at 206 W. Camp St., had opened in mid-March, replacing Pho Noodle House. Owner Sam Mach described the business as an American-style buffet and promised customers a variety of options, including pizza, a carving station, a dessert bar, a salad bar, daily specials, and more. The announcement sparked conversation in the community with over 360 comments and 288 shares on a Journal Star post.

In its closing announcement, Farmer’s Buffet expressed gratitude to the community for its support and the memories created together. Although the journey of Farmer’s Buffet has come to an end, they hope the flavors and experiences enjoyed at the buffet will stay with customers. The statement concluded with a heartfelt thank you to everyone who had been a part of their story.

The closure of Farmer’s Buffet serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by small businesses and the impact it can have on owners, employees and loyal customers. It is always sad to see a business close its doors especially one that was part of the community for only a short time.
