Firefighters rushed to the scene of a blaze at Fastenal’s fulfillment center on Wednesday morning, May 29, 2024. The fire was reported at around 5:45 a.m. after 911 dispatch received a call about a commercial building fire in the 400 block of South Route 100 in Upper Macungie Township.
According to Fastenal’s website, the company is a supply chain solutions provider and wholesale distributor. The location of the fire is a fulfillment center for the company. As of about 7 a.m., firefighters were still battling the blaze, with smoke billowing from the building visible on social media photos posted by witnesses on-scene.
Route 100 in the area of the fire was closed according to PennDOT’s traffic website, 511pa.com. This is a developing story, so check back for updates as more information becomes available.
