On Saturday, First lady Jill Biden paid a visit to the Ludeman Family Center for Women’s Health Research at the University of Colorado Anschutz campus in Aurora. During her time there, she praised the University of Colorado for its outstanding work in women-centered research, highlighting the significance of studying women’s health.
As part of her visit, Biden spoke with doctors about their efforts to improve healthcare for women in Colorado. She emphasized that despite recent advances in medical research, women’s health remains understudied compared to men’s health. Dr. Judith Regensteiner, director of the Ludeman Family Center for Women’s Health Research, shared some of the challenges that women face when trying to seek care in a medical system that is primarily designed for men.
Biden’s visit was an opportunity to showcase President Biden’s commitment to supporting women’s healthcare on a federal level. She emphasized the importance of including women in research from the beginning and ensuring that discoveries reached those who needed them most – women and their families seeking answers about their own health needs.
The event highlighted the importance of prioritizing women’s health research and making advancements in healthcare that benefit all women across the country. As Dr. Regensteiner put it: “Women’s health is not just important; it is essential.”
