Flour Bluff ISD to Introduce Sports Officiating Class for the Next School Year

Flour Bluff Independent School District is introducing a new elective course for the 2024-2025 school year, aimed at juniors and seniors. This sports officiating class will provide students with the opportunity to learn the skills required to officiate football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball, and baseball games.

During the fall semester, students will focus on officiating football, volleyball, and basketball. In the spring semester, they will shift their focus to learning the ropes of soccer, softball, and baseball officiating. Upon completion of each course, students will be able to reach out to their corresponding sport officiating chapter and begin shadowing officials right away.

Flour Bluff ISD stands out as one of only 15 districts in Texas to offer this program to students. They believe that this course will provide students with valuable skills that will serve them well in the future. By participating in this class, students will be able to enhance their interpersonal communication skills, connect with the community, and build characteristics that will benefit them in their future endeavors.
