Two Flyers to Be Highlighted in 2024 World Championships

The IIHF World Championships are in full swing as the preliminary round began on Friday in Czechia. Team USA and Sweden are both represented at the tournament by players from the Philadelphia Flyers, Joel Farabee and Samuel Ersson, respectively.

In their first game, Team USA faced off against Sweden and suffered a 5-2 defeat. Farabee, playing alongside Shane Pinto and Ryan Leonard, had four shots on target in the losing effort. On the other hand, Ersson served as the backup goaltender for Team Sweden.

Team USA bounced back with a 6-1 win over Germany on Saturday. Farabee played significant ice time alongside Will Smith and Trevor Zegras. Next up for Team USA is a match against Slovakia, followed by games against France, Poland, Kazakhstan, and Austria.

Team Sweden had a day off on Saturday but will face Poland next. They will also play against Germany, Kazakhstan, Latvia, France, and Slovakia in the following days. In Group A of the tournament are notable teams such as Canada, Finland, Czech Republic
